Quality policy
What we promise every buyer, and how we keep that promise from paddy to port.
Our promise
Navjyoti Foods is committed to supplying rice that is safe, honest and consistent: exactly the grade, length and aroma our buyers ordered, produced with zero chemical additives, and managed to the standards of ISO 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP and GMP.

We commit to
Known sources
Buy paddy only from certified, standardised farms in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and keep every lot traceable to where it was grown.
Nothing added
Use no polishing oils, colours or chemical preservatives at any stage. What leaves our mill is rice and nothing else.
Test before it ships
Test every lot in our own laboratory, and cook a sample of it, before it is released for shipment.
Clean spaces
Keep the mill and warehouses clean, dry and pest-controlled, with regular, documented hygiene checks.
Every market’s rules
Meet the food law of each country we ship to, from FSSAI at home to US FDA and SFDA abroad.
Keep improving
Review this policy and our quality objectives every year, and train our people to follow them.
Quality control, in nine checks
Every lot passes the same nine checks between the paddy yard and the sealed container, and ships with a certificate of analysis.

Raw paddy inspection
Every load of paddy is sampled on arrival for variety purity, maturity, moisture and foreign matter. Loads that miss the mark are turned away at the gate.

Moisture testing
Kett moisture meters check paddy on arrival, after drying and before packing, so milled rice leaves us at the moisture level on the contract.

Milling quality
A whiteness meter measures the degree of milling and polish on every batch, keeping colour consistent from one shipment to the next.

Grain-length analysis
We measure average grain length raw, then cook a sample and measure it again, to confirm the grade and its elongation.

Broken percentage
Broken grains are separated from a weighed sample and counted against the grade's limit, typically 1% or 2% for basmati.

Foreign matter & admixture
Samples are hand-checked for stones, husk, paddy and grains of other varieties. When a buyer asks, varietal purity is confirmed by DNA testing at an accredited laboratory.

Sortex
Optical colour sorters reject discoloured, chalky, damaged and foreign grains. Any lot that misses its reject target goes back through the sorter.

Final inspection
After packing, a random sample from the finished lot is re-tested against the contract specification and cooked once more.

Pre-shipment inspection
Your inspection agency, whether SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or another, is welcome to sample, weigh and witness loading before the container is sealed.
